CD Review: Hollywood Undead – Swan Songs

So another review. This time it’s a cd that came out today. I found a copy and listened through the entire cd from this myspace turned major label band. The band is a cross of hardcore, hip hop, and metal. They classify themselves as SCENE. The very first track “Undead” sets this album up very well. It’s heavy it has its moments of melody and its all around Hollywood Undead. I found this band one night browsing through bands on myspace and thought little of them because the majority of their songs were just goofy but as they progressed I found more meaningful songs such as one that is on the album “My Black Dahlia”. Actually a heart-wrenching song to say the least. While they still have some of their goofy songs on the new cd it doesn’t detract anything from it. It breaks up some serious moments and throws some comedy at you. Overall I was also very impressed by the production value and the beats and arrangements on the cd. They are very impressive to say the least. Overall I give this 4 out of 5. It isn’t perfect but for a debut album from a band that started on myspace and worked their way up to finally make it big I was impressed and recommend a listen through if this sounds like your thing.

Video Game Review: Castle Crashers

So as I don’t normally do posts about multimedia on this page and instead do it on Cesaria’s page I thought to myself why not do some reviews on my own anyway. So for the first I would like to talk about Castle Crashers. This is one of the best XBLA games I have ever played. I don’t think that I have ever been more excited about a downloadable game this much. The game is pretty much a side scrolling Gauntlet type game. You progress through levels, slay foes, and gain experience, and unique items. It’s a blast to play and my g/f and I have clocked many hours sitting in front of the TV and playing co-op. The great thing about Castle Crashers is that it is intended to be a multiplayer game. You can play 1, 2, 3, or 4 player. I have done 1, 2, and 3. The more players the more frantic its gets on screen but the easier it gets to go through levels so friends not required but recommended. I have completed the game once through with my g/f and we are in the stages of going through again under different characters because there are many unlockables to get…and we want them all. There are many weapons to get to improve stats dungeon raider style along with many animal orbs to come across in the game all of which have different abilities. The bosses are very varied and the gameplay is consistent and easy to learn and use. The backgrounds are amazingly vibrant and fun to look at the entire game. But overall I give this game a solid 4 out of 5. Now I know what you’re saying, why 4 and not 5, thats because of the online troubles. It gets kind of hard to play when waiting to find players takes 20 to 30 minutes but I’m sure they are working on getting that fixed. So a definite buy for me and hopefully for you as well.

Updates updates updates….

So I finally got all moved into my new house and settled down so I think I can justify using some of my free time to update the site. Not sure how long this exact site is going to be my blog option as a friend of mine and I are probably going to start a site together and will combine ours and add a few other little perks that we are working on. But enough of my babbling on about that on to some more blogs. I’ve had a couple running through my head and I’ll get those all typed out here in a bit. Just a weird little observation

I was recently driving and I noticed something. All the cars I saw with the “Jesus fish” also had handicap bumper stickers. Now this makes little logical sense as you would think someone who has been handicapped would hold no love for their “creator”. Maybe I’m just a little too skeptical or maybe the handicap church just let out but this to me just seems a little too strange.

This morning at about 4 am.

so recently i sat down and thought over everything i have learned recently from friends and people around me. i have come to the conclusion that everyone wants to physically hurt everyone. if you go and look at one of the biggest attractions right now in modern society you find mma and ufc. the basics of these 2 items are 2 people get in a ring, or an octagon, as they call it, and they beat the shit out of each other. now to me this makes no sense. i don’t understand the concept behind these attractions. i mean i guess you can say im girly and that these things make no sense and this is a rather odd and random addition to for me to wite about but i have been thinking this up now for about a week and through no thought or talking to anyone can i figure out why people want to watch this. why people take the time out of their day to watch 2 men beat the fuck out of each other. it confuses me and i guess you could say im ignorant to it as i can honestly say ive never watched more than a couple matches and in my opinion they are boring and completely irrelevant to anyones actual life. essentialy it makes about as much sense as me typing all in lower case. it doesnt make sense but people do it. but i mean i guess that is what floats peoples boats. and i may just be drunk, which i am, or i may have a valid point. overall however my point is this. i dont get it.
